1. Event Overview

The Open Mic Night will take place on Friday 20th February 2026, from 7pm – 10pm at The Bear, Tattenhall. Entry is free, but guests are encouraged to reserve a ticket to guarantee space.

2. Performances

Guests are welcome to perform flash fiction, poetry, limericks, storytelling or spoken-word pieces.
Performers may present original work or read published work, provided full credit is given to the original author.
The Bear reserves the right to limit the number or duration of performances depending on attendance.

3. Conduct & Content

All performances must remain respectful and suitable for a mixed audience.

Material that is:

discriminatory,
aggressively political,
hateful,
explicit, or
otherwise inappropriate
may be stopped at the discretion of the hosts or venue team.

4. Prizes

Prizes are awarded at the hosts’ discretion for creativity, delivery and audience engagement. Prize decisions are final and cannot be contested.

5. Photography & Recording

By attending, guests acknowledge that photography or short video clips may be taken during the event for The Bear’s marketing and social channels.

Anyone who does not wish to appear in media should inform a member of staff upon arrival.

6. Seating & Capacity

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pre-booked tickets secure entry but do not guarantee a specific seat.

7. Food & Drink

Dining before the event is available in the restaurant.

External food or drink is not permitted on the premises.

8. Safety & Behaviour

The Bear reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee whose behaviour is disruptive or unsafe.

9. Accessibility

If you require accessibility support or have specific needs, please contact the venue in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

10. Changes or Cancellation

The Bear reserves the right to amend event details or cancel the event if required. Any changes will be communicated on our website and social media channels.
